Volunteer Interview: Maz

Maz has worked for over 20 years as a solicitor specialising in immigration law. She’s tri-lingual, a mother of two and a carer to her youngest child.

 

What is your role at Citizens Advice Barnet?

I volunteer with the immigration department.

 

Why do you volunteer at Citizens Advice Barnet?

I’m taking some time out from work for personal reasons but I wanted to put my skills to good use through volunteering.

Is there anything you’ve done while volunteering with us that you’re particularly proud of?

I like to think I make a difference by supporting the immigration caseworker. I have done a few applications but it’s too soon to have received a response on them.
