Meet Citizens Advice Barnet volunteers past and present!
For over 80 years, Citizens Advice Barnet has offered advice and assistance to the community; this has been and continues to be possible because of the time, commitment and dedication of our volunteers. Currently, volunteers make up 50 percent of our workforce.
Volunteers and staff are brought together by the desire to help others. And, together, we do a great deal: In 2021, for example, we helped 6,706 people with 31,857 problems with work, debt, benefits, immigration, and/or housing.
The variety of our work is reflected in the variety of our volunteering roles. Regardless of the role chosen, however, every volunteer receives training, support, supervision, and opportunities for development. As a team, we work to ensure that the volunteering experience is a meaningful, joyful and positive experience.
Barnet is a very diverse borough and we hope that our volunteers reflect that diversity. We value the years of lived experience, skills and knowledge volunteers bring to our organisation. Therefore, we welcome and support volunteers from different backgrounds and walks of life.
We invite you to read about a few of our volunteers’ experiences and to apply to be one of them!
