Advice Services Manager (Macmillan & Specialist Projects)
Role Profile
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with great interpersonal skills and an advice background, to manage our Macmillan project along with other specialist projects. This could be a perfect opportunity for an experienced people manager to step into.
You will be responsible for the 121, quality and performance of the team. This busy and varied role will rely on your ability to bring out the best in the team as well as to ensure the highest quality of advice across the projects.
About us
Citizens Advice Barnet is a local charity giving free and confidential advice to everyone who lives, works, or studies in Barnet. We are an independently registered charity, a member of the Citizens Advice network, and a London Legal Support Trust Centre of Excellence. We offer generalist advice on debt, work, benefits, immigration, housing and more and specialist casework on benefits, debt, work and immigration. Last year we helped over 12,700 people with over 42,350 problems.

Job Description
- Responsible for the day to day operational management of the projects.
- Leading and organising all aspects of staff recruitment and selection for the projects teams
- Direct line management using tools provided and creating a culture of collaborative working
- Assist the Head of Advice Services in actively engaging the support of relevant stakeholders in the areas covered by the project
- Maintain good relations with Citizens Advice and prepare reports as necessary, ensuring compliance with all service agreements
- Efficiently collect all relevant project data so that project activity can be accurately reported to funders
- Ensure that all project services are accurately and effectively marketed and publicised
- Maintain and monitor effective and efficient office administrative systems for the projects.
- Use information technology as required and ensure that it is used as effectively as possible within the projects.
- Support Head of Advice Services in the development of strategic objectives for the Services and ensure the achievement of objectives through team and individual objectives
- Ensure that project staff and services integrate well with the rest of CAB, keeping the rest of CAB up to date with the projects and attending staff meetings as required.
- Produce reports as required by the Trustees on the work of the projects and attend CAB Board of Trustee Meetings as required.
- Represent the projects and CAB at meetings, forums and through appropriate networking.
- Ensure the project actively participates in CAB research and campaigns plans and meetings.
- Demonstrating an understanding of CAB Health & Safety, and Safeguarding Policies

Person specification
- A working knowledge of advice services
- Experience in managing and motivating staff to deliver creativity and passion for work we do
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team to manage a busy workload
- Drive engagement with partners to build brand awareness
- Clear, strategic and lateral thinker able to make clear and effective decisions
- Demonstrates compassionate leadership
- Effective in managing change
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
